Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): Words will never hurt the truth, but discussion will always expose frauds.
They say when a bomber pilot starts picking up heavy flak, she’s over the target. So it is with Moms for Liberty—Williamson County. They’ve clearly touched a nerve with the folks over at Williamson Strong. So much so that they decided to resurrect their moribund site and rebrand it with new leadership.
Kinda like adding a sunroof to a Pontiac Aztek, slapping a “NEW AND IMPROVED!!!” sticker on it, and charging another $5K…
But what’s old is new again, or is it what’s new is old again?
Looks like it’s the same tactics: making veiled threats towards people[i], projecting their own sins on others[ii], and generally throwing poop in a fan hoping to obscure what’s really happening.[iii]
But it’s the “aw shucks, we’re one of you!!!” schtick that smells like day-old room temperature fish.
New and improved leader Anne McGraw might tout her (appointed)[iv] school board experience, but when she tried to parlay that into a County Commission seat, she got caught cheating.[v]
This seems to be a trend with “Strong” leadership.
Leader emeritus, Kim Henke, has parlayed her ambitions into a non-partisan County Election Commission seat. However, she also got caught trying to tip the scales.[vi] Maybe someone should check the ownership of that baton…
Then there’s another alumni leader, Susan Drury. Williamson Strong claims to be 100% local homegrown goodness. But Susan Drury is an SEIU organizer, raking in around six figures annually.[vii]
Now, everyone needs to make a buck, but SEIU is the national organization behind the “Fight for 15” minimum wage increase[viii] that will be the death knell for small businesses and result in fewer jobs for low skilled workers.[ix]
What SEIU lacks in economic sense they make up for in supporting far-left causes and politicians with sometimes threatening tactics.[x] Is Susan the bagman for Williamson Strong? Maybe,[xi] maybe not, but it sure is odd that an exceptionally well-paid national union operative is deeply involved in Williamson County schools.
Are there other skeletons in the Strong closet? Is it worth asking some questions about this “local” organization, its leadership, its source of funds? Let’s leave that up to others for now.
The fact of the matter is, Williamson Strong is adamantly opposed to a true grassroots parent organization that has put on two exceptional presentations for the community on some very real problems with the education Williamson County children are receiving.
Rather than encouraging the use of prefrontal cortices, the folks at Williamson Strong appear to prefer activating the amygdala (if they had attended CRT 101, they’d understand that reference). Put another way, there’s an offer on the table to debate the issues face to face, to fight this battle in the arena of ideas where such things should be contested in a peaceful, Constitutional republic such as ours.
Instead, Williamson Strong has chosen to cast aspersions, make veiled threats, and continue spinning a false narrative.
When someone ducks an issue, it’s either because they’re scared or they lack the cerebral horsepower to defend their point.
Which is it Williamson Strong? Are you quaking in fear, or are you a product of failed Leftist education policies you still support?
