The Republican Party’s Shift Toward Moderation, from Abortion to Surveillance

At one point in our not so distant history, Republicans had a party platform that Chrisitan conservatives could identify with. The 2014 GOP platform protected life at conception, identified marriage as between a man and a woman, and clearly communicated a promise to protect the 2nd Amendment.
It also promised it would fight against the mass surveillance by the government in our daily lives.
Eight years later, the Republican Party re-wrote their platform, under the Chairmanship of Senator Marsha Blackburn and with the direction of President Trump. The platform shifted from a values-focus to a shortened “play book” with a focus on the hot button topics at the time.
Two States, Two Realities: Comparing Abortion Access in Massachusetts and Tennessee

Last week, Massachusetts amended their 24-week abortion ban to now allow a woman to abort her baby all the way up to birth. It became the 11th state to allow a doctor to perform a full-term abortion. Other states with the same legal protections are Alaska, Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, Maryland, Michigan, Vermont, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia.
It’s Time to Remove the Option of Abortion in Tennessee

There has been an incredible amount of discussion regarding the “abortion” bill that was put on notice this week.
Supporting the mission to save babies and support pregnant moms is a passion most conservatives have in common. However, it seems the methods by which that mission is supported, has caused division and hate which has opened the door for more confusion and only more division.
The arbitrary nature of our beliefs on abortion.

I want to talk about a bill that has been submitted in Tennessee (and many states) – HB 570 – that would give equal protection under the law to babies in the womb. In other words, we are legally declaring that the baby in the womb is just as much of a person as a […]
A Call to Veto HB533 and Uphold Tennessee’s Commitment to Life

Life begins at the miraculous moment of fertilization, when a unique and divinely created human being comes into existence. This is not merely a philosophical or political assertion, but a profound truth rooted in scripture and scientific fact. Psalm 139 reminds us clearly that God “knit us together in our mother’s womb,” indicating His sovereign […]
The pro-life movement and the case to abolish abortion.

Of course, it’s the Christmas season. And while our focus is on celebrating the birth of Christ and sharing memorable moments with our families, I’m sure that the subject on the top of everyone’s mind is not…abortion. But if you’ll indulge me here, the timing is relevant. The FACE Act and Federal Power This week, […]
When you give the enemy an inch…you quickly realize that you should never give the enemy an inch.

In 2019, Governor Bill Lee signed Tennessee’s trigger law (restriction on abortions), which was set to become effective at such a time that Roe v Wade might be overturned by the US Supreme Court. And conservatives cheered while Republican elected leaders took a victory lap. However, little did we know that after 50 years, the […]
Abortion and the new 2024 Republican Platform

The new 2024 Republican Platform adopted in Milwaukee on July 8th now departs from a federal defense of life and a defense of biblical marriage. The former 58-page robust 2016 platform took a strong stance against the 2015 SCOTUS Obergefell ruling and sought to defend family values and marriage between one man and one woman. […]
A message for Cammie.

If there is one box you need to check as a candidate for office running as a Republican in the state of Tennessee, it is the pro-life box. And now, in a post-Roe v Wade legislative year, this is the first time that Republicans needed to stand firm in the defense of life. And they […]
Nashville baby-killing death cult (a.k.a. Metro Council) passes unconstitutional ordinance to fund abortions.

There is no shortage of stupid when it comes to local governments in Nashville and Memphis. This time at the direction of Mayor John Cooper, Nashville Metro Council is on the prowl to make sure that the city works to subsidize corporations who offer to help moms get an all-expenses paid trip to the baby-killing […]
