The indoctrination of our children does not stop until we make it stop.

What is happening in our schools is incredibly disheartening. School shootings are becoming just another news hit with the latest mass casualties happening in Uvalde, TX. And most of America is left with the burning question, how do we stop this?

Of course, the Left always takes the opportunity to push a gun control narrative as if stiff gun laws and penalties are not already in place. The problem is that people intent on doing evil things typically do not follow the law. And this is the breakdown of the progressive nonsensical spouting off at the mouth with no real solutions in tow.

But I am not really writing about school shootings. These occurrences are just a symptom of a much deeper cultural issue.

Since parents experienced public education in their homes for well over a year due to the closing of schools in 2020-2021, the general public has been awakened to a problem that only a few were previously aware of. Some call it Critical Race Theory. It goes by many names and comes in many forms. But at the root of all of this is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). This is the building block upon which any other indoctrination program is set.

The public school system has taken on the role of shaping your child’s worldview in terms of sexuality, religion, race, and everything in between. And all of these agendas over time come in different packages. But it is all built on the foundation of SEL. Once your child has become desensitized to sex, death, and all things evil, it is much easier to push a cultural narrative and shape their views on a variety of topics.

Recently, many Tennesseans learned of some materials from the Book of Questions being provided to students at Franklin County High School (Winchester, TN). Thanks to Robert Chase Matheson (of the Patriot Punk Network), here are some of what these students were exposed to.

And the thing that is maddening to many is that no one is ever at fault, and no one is ever held accountable when these things are exposed. Here is the response from the school’s principal.

“This morning I learned that an assignment was posted by Mr. Gibson that contained some inappropriate questions. The questions came from an online source called Book of Questions which provided students with hundreds of questions geared to engage students’ thinking skills. While the assignment itself was appropriate, unfortunately, Mr. Gibson did not screen all the questions, which resulted in questions that are not suitable for our students being part of the assignment.

Mr. Gibson is a man of integrity, and he would have never intentionally exposed students to this material.

I met with Mr. Gibson this morning and a letter is being sent home to parents.

We sincerely apologize for this mistake.

Roger D. Alsup, Ed. D.
Principal
Franklin County High School”

While an apology is certainly necessary for this type of occurrence, does that suffice? The issue is that these types of materials exist in our schools across the state, and it leads to an unending saga of school board meetings with little to no resolution being found to the problem.

And while the Tennessee General Assembly sought to address this issue in the 2022 legislative session, bills fell short of accomplishing the task of getting these materials banned from our public school system and still, laws continue to protect educators from any accountability in these matters.

But back to the root of the problem, Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

Back in August 2020, just before Tennessee Stands had the reach across the state that it does now, I released a video called, Who is Penny Schwinn? And you might be asking the same question.

Penny is our Commissioner of Education in Tennessee. She runs the show here in education and she sets the tone. Penny was appointed to this position in 2019 by then, incoming Governor Bill Lee. It would be well worth your time to watch this video to get some background on who runs our education initiatives here in Tennessee, her agenda, and where she comes from.

We are going to be digging into this issue a bit. Why? Because we need fix it, and now. This has been going on long enough in our school systems. Shaping the worldview of our children is the job of parents and our faith communities, not a public school system.

Coming up on Wednesday, June 1st, we are going to be speaking with Trisha Lucente from an organization called, Parents’ Choice Tennessee. Trisha has been working to find out more about how SEL is impacting students in our schools and trying to find ways to rid our schools of this nefarious agenda. Make sure that you subscribe and join in this conversation.
